According to McKinsey & Co.’s Diversity Matters report, companies in the top quartile for gender diversity are 15% more likely to outperform competition. Also, women earn more bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees in the United States than men, according to the National Center for Education Statistics. Yet, women account for an average of just 16% of the members of executive teams in the United States and 12% in the United Kingdom, per McKinsey.
The women that CAR WASH Magazine spoke with for this article are shining examples of how their gender does not define them – and they are rocketing right through those glass ceilings! One of them is Brittany Webb a Senior Financial Analyst from Car Wash Advisory.
What was your first impression of this industry, and has it changed since then?
When originally being introduced to the industry I knew little to nothing therefore I was extremely impressionable. My initial impression was the car wash industry seemed to be a small and a furthermore slower market. Funny enough, that changed quite quickly. Obviously working at a car wash advisory and broker firm, I was soon opened to the true realities of an ever growing, non-stagnant, progressive world of washes.
What’s a typical day like for you?
It’s always hard to box in a typical day as every day comes with new and complex responsibilities. My days usually consist of ongoing financial model creation, pricing and valuation analysis, operating financing discussions, financial documentation, and deal structuring and negotiations.
What do you think the future holds for the car wash industry?
What a year 2020 was! In the years to come, I believe this industry will see a considerable amount of growth as new builds are at an all-time high and acquisition activity is projected to continue to rise. The incredibly competitive world of business continues to look on for what’s in store for the car wash industry during this exciting time of expansion.
What is your dream car?
A matte-black Tesla Model S.
Do you have any unique skills or talents that most people don’t know about?
Most people don’t know I play the piano and sing. Definitely hidden talents of mine!
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would that be?
My top choice is always and forever Turks & Caicos.
What are you happiest doing when you're not working?
Everyone knows I LOVE spending time with my beautiful family and 1-year-old baby boy.
